Hold Your Governor and MCA Accountable: The Power of Gen Z’s Voice

Have you noticed? Your governor and local MCA may have been getting away with more than you realize. They cruise through town in their shiny SUVs, stepping out like they’re the stars of a movie, only to promise what they never deliver. Six months have passed, and what has really changed? Let’s stop waiting for another round of empty speeches and fake promises. The truth is, the real work happens in the streets—not in the boardrooms.

It’s time for YOU to take action. Get a group together. Just five people. Yes, five. Hit the streets. Go to those so-called "projects" they brag about and hold them up to the light. If there’s nothing to see, call it out. If there’s progress, let the world know. Hold them accountable. If you aren’t actively checking, you’re letting them get away with it.

Make your findings public. Start small with something simple—a one-page newspaper—but make it real. No fluff. No sugarcoating. Just pure truth. Your MCA can’t hide behind empty promises if every time they step out, someone is right there to ask, "What have you really done?" Remind them, every single time, that they are not above accountability.

When they roll into town, surrounded by crowds and fake celebrations, don’t buy into the hype. Those staged spectacles don’t mean a thing. What matters is the actual work being done in your community. Your voice is just as powerful as your vote. Demand accountability. Keep questioning. Keep shouting. These people are your public servants, not the other way around. They’ve had their time. They’ve made their promises for years. They’ve failed.

It’s time for Gen Z to step up and say, “Enough is enough.” Get involved in the real work, not the show. Things will only change when you stop being silent. Don’t attend their meetings just to cheer them on. Show up to challenge them. Keep pushing for real answers. Let them know that your generation is no longer fooled by empty words.

The clock is ticking, and you deserve better. So, grab your group, get moving, and make sure they see you. Your community can’t wait any longer. You have the power to make a difference.
